Logistics Team Trash Volunteer – collected trash from the ground and emptied and refilled the trash receptacles.

 

Stage Hand Volunteer – helped with the stage acts by setting up/tearing down each act.

 

The purpose of the event was to promote and celebrate the international diversity and heritage of Brazos Valley.

 

I learned about the history, heritage and culture of the people of Brazos Valley which was very interesting.  Each heritage had their own area so they could expand on food, information, and goods to be sold.  From a volunteer’s perspective, the location of the event needs to be moved to a more open and bigger area as the food truck vendors had difficulty setting up and selling their food.  Since this event involved food, it would have been best to be at a location that did not interfere with animals (i.e., location was at an equestrian site).
